Toen ik op Facebook zag dat Brad Walker twee originele G.I. Joe Comic Covers te koop aan bood, was dat mijn startschot om weer een nieuw G.I. Joe Art artikel samen te gaan stellen! 😎👑🔥

Nu was ik meteen benieuwd naar oud werk van Walker in het door ons geliefde G.I. Joe thema. Maar of ik nu op DeviantArt of ArtStation, zijn Facebook, Instagram of X keek, nergens vond ik ook maar 1 oud Joe-werk! Ontzettend veel ontzettend vette illustraties, van Spiderman tot Batman, maar er was geen Joe of Cobra te vinden... 🤷🏽‍♂️

Toen Skybound de vijf variant covers voor G.I. Joe A Real American Hero  301 - 305 presenteerde, werd door een uitspraak van Walker al heel duidelijk dat de teleurstellende resultaten van mijn zoektocht logisch waren. Dat had ik wellicht beter als eerste kunnen lezen. 😅

"Some of the very first comics I ever bought were early issues of G.I. JOE, and they informed much of my love of the medium. I particularly remember the covers blowing my young mind, month after month,” said Brad Walker. “Getting to contribute to that legacy is really exciting. Plus, it’s been a blast to explore these characters that I probably haven’t drawn since I was nine or ten years old. Hopefully the fun I have drawing them comes across to the fans!"

Oké, oké, sinds zijn 10e geen Joe meer getekend... Dan houdt mijn zoektocht direct op en kan ik alleen maar uitkijken naar het moment dat de tekeningen van de 10-jarige Walker op het wereldwijde web verschijnen! 🥳🙏🏼

Dat Brad Walker plezier beleeft aan het illustreren van de G.I. Joe covers is overigens zeker te merken. De kwaliteit van de covers is hoog: mooie composities, gedetailleerd, dynamisch, rauw, en dan Duke op #304... Pfffff... Geniaal! 😎👑🔥

Maar daarmee is het G.I. Joe werk van Brad Walker wel erg overzichtelijk. Vijf covers, die je hieronder kunt vinden. Waar ik via diverse media heb gezocht, heb ik de Inks, Virgins, Details en dus twee Inks on Bristol Board toegevoegd. Hier kun je de originele Art kopen van issue 301 of issue 302, respectievelijk 2800,- en 2500,- Dollar. 🔥🔥🔥

Mocht er in de toekomst nog een Inked of Virgin versie van de covers online komen, dan zal ik deze toevoegen aan dit overzicht. We kunnen volgens mij sowieso uitkijken naar meer G.I. Joe covers van Brad Walker, en daar zal niemand over klagen. 🥳
