Today Skybound, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, debuted an incredible set of all-new G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero variant covers from comics superstar Brad Walker (Detective Comics) and Francesco Segala (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). Kicking off the relaunch of the landmark comic series at Skybound, Walker’s covers showcase iconic G.I. JOE characters and their Cobra counterparts.
“Some of the very first comics I ever bought were early issues of G.I. JOE, and they informed much of my love of the medium. I particularly remember the covers blowing my young mind, month after month,” said Brad Walker. “Getting to contribute to that legacy is really exciting. Plus, it’s been a blast to explore these characters that I probably haven’t drawn since I was nine or ten years old. Hopefully the fun I have drawing them comes across to the fans!”
These all-new covers will appear as variants to G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #301-#305, each featuring an iconic member of G.I. JOE and an unforgettable member of Cobra, marking a new era for one of the longest running non-superhero comics of all time. G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero launches at Skybound with legendary series writer Larry Hama (Marvel’s Wolverine) continuing his record-breaking run on the series, joined by fan-favorite artist Chris Mooneyham (DC’s Nightwing, Sgt. Rock and the Unknown Soldier) and colorist Francesco Segala breathing new life into the iconic characters. G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #301 arrives in comic book shops on November 15, 2023.
