Artiesten als Mike Mayhew zijn lastig om een G.I. Joe Art artikel van te maken, omdat ze al zo lang meegaan en zoveel gemaakt hebben wat aan G.I. Joe raakt... En mijn eigenlijke doel is om het gehele G.I. Joe-genre van 1 artiest te vangen in zulke artikelen. Dat is met artiesten als Mayhew een onbegonnen taak...

Maar het werk is aan de andere kant té vet om niet de delen!

Dus ga ik werk van zulke artiesten in een reeks kleinere artikelen verwerken, zoals in dit gevaal met al het G.I. Joe werk uit 2023. Voor Mike Mayhew zijn G.I. Joe Art, is dit dus deel 1, in een hopelijk lange reeks aan beeldschone kunst. 😎👑

Vandaag deelde hij een aankomende Cover voor de Comic G.I. Joe - A Real American Hero 303, geschreven door de legendarische Larry Hama, sinds vorige maand weer in het schap van de lokale Comic Shops. Deze keer staat Lady Jaye centraal, net als op de cover van issue 274, en de Covers hebben daarmee veel van elkaar weg. Maar dan kunnen we er nog wel gewoon van genieten! 🔥

Doe dat vooral, en check daarna de rest van zijn prachtige kunstwerken, want ook voor issues 301 en 302 toverde Mayhew een paar mooie vrouwen op de covers: Baroness en Scarlett. Via WhatNot zijn ook een aantal illustraties te bewonderen op een blanco Comic Cover, of zelfs Mayhew Covers met zeer bijzondere "remarques" zoals je zult zien. 🔥
